Middle School: Navigating the Journey between Childhood and Adolescence
Children start to feel more themselves, become more independent and go through significant changes in their physical, emotional and intellectual growth during this period. A time of curiosity and discovery, of challenge and opportunity. Children then learn a more sophisticated academic curriculum as well as life skills that aid them in preparation for life. This is a liminal stage that is sometimes referred to as a "bridge between two important developmental stages. Young learners are no longer infants who require a great deal of adult guidance and supervision, but they are also not full-fledged adolescents.
